Rajadamnern Muay Thai Stadium
I got to attend a promotional event from one of the oldest Muay Thai clubs in Bangkok, held in the city's oldest modern arena! The venue is really nice, with a great atmosphere and plenty of entertainment to keep the crowd busy while waiting, kind of like at US stadiums: karaoke contests, dance contests, etc. There's also food and drinks on site, so it's a really complete package. During the evening, the stadium puts on a sound and light show that tells the broad story of Muay Thai, with some genuinely cool visual effects. On to the fights. It was a promotional night, so no real stakes that would push the guys to go all out. So it stayed in the "OK tier" in terms of action and intensity, nothing too impressive (0 KOs and barely any knockdowns). Worth going for the atmosphere and the venue, but if you're lucky enough to catch a night with top-level fighters and titles on the line, it must be even better! I'd happily go back. PS: It's very bright in there. By the end of the night, your eyes will have taken a beating!
